In my experience, it only works when there’s a single subject such as one person, one dog, one cat, etc. When there’s more than one, I get a “subject not found” or “background not found” error. Haven’t checked with Support yet but I will, and will update this post with a reply when I get one.

In both 2025 & 2026 there were some fairly big UI chances that casual users have problems with.
.
Going through this video again today, the masking properties layers is still something I am having problems with. Hopefully it gets simplified in 2027. Would really like to have a feather slider on the main masking properities screen so one does not have to go to refine mask to find it, as not everyone uses shortcuts.
.
Keep up the good work, great to have videos like this that we can come back to.

Dan, it looks like you lost a few pounds. You’ look great bro. Anyway, back to ON1 2026. Great information! Looking forward to downloading the 2026 version (which I will today) and start using it. Keep up the great work guys…

I can’t find a video on the new masking workflow (not the AI, just regular masking) and I don’t have time to sit through an hour covering the whole thing.

And what a great video this is, highlighting all the new features….!
I don’t have the time to wade through manuals, but this way of introducing new functions is really tops!

The motion filter is going to be my next favorite. Depth lighting goes on top of the list too. Boosting creativity is process and you boost it with this new ON1 version…
Thank you so much,
André

ps: if only you could look at the Dutch translations….. they are so poor I can not use them — I default to english and that works fine for me.

So far when using masks I only get messages, subject or background etc not found. Even with people standing in the foreground which should obviously be the main subject. I don’t even see the previously available mountain, architecture ground etc unless I select add effect and those appear on the left side of the drop down box. So far everything seems more complicated and busy that PR2025. I’ve had to close some features taking too much space and open others that seemed hidden to have tools that I normally use readily available. I’m assuming much of this is just my learning how to use this new software and not bugs. Initially it reminds me of me of Microsoft software were new versions have completely changed the interface and one has to completely relearn how to do the simplest functions. I like the masking pane that I could open in 2025 and make selection. I think I will have to continue using PR 2025 until I have learned how to use all the new functions and features of PR2026.
Brilliance AI still produces garish unuseable results in its default setting, I prefer to to my tonal adjustments manually and rarely need to make color adjustments.

There is a lot to new things available and the ease of use is welcome. You can actually be more creative with your photos with the new filters. Now I have to get busy and learn how to use the changes.
